Use Facebook photos for your playing cards!

Pinch your friends Facebook photos for a unique surprise gift!
What better way to put together a unique, surprise gift for friends and family than to sneak a few photos and put together a brilliant pack of personalised playing cards, or custom "My Trumps" gaming cards?
The easiest way to sneak photos from friends and family is from their Facebook pages. After all, they've approved them for public display (else they wouldn't be on their Facebook page would they?) so you know they'll bring a smile rather than an embarrassed grin when they receive your gift! And downloading your friends and family member's photos is quick and easy.

Note: the image quality of pictures taken from Facebook may not be as good as those from your digital camera. This will be refelected in the final print quality of your playing cards. If you have and know how to use an image editor such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, it may be worthwhile spending a few minutes improving the photo quality

Below is a quick "how to" guide:
How to download your friends and family Facebook images

1.Log into Facebook and either select a friend then view their photo albums, or click on a photo from your Facebook page

2.Flip through your friends photo album until you find the photo that you're looking for. Right click on the photo and from the pop-up menu, select "save image as". (the exact wording may change depending on the web browser that you're using)

3.Save the image somewhere handy - you'll need it in a few minutes! Sometime My Documents can be a dumping ground of all kinds of things, so finding your images in here can be a bit of a problem. If you're likely to lose your images after saving them, stick them on your PC desktop. It may make your desktop look cluttered for a while, but at least you'll be able to find your photos quickly for the next step!

4.Repeat this for each friend and each photo your want to use. It is often quicker to gather all your photos together before uploading them to your online Custom Stuff photo album.

5.Use the menu to the left to upload photos to your online album. Click the browse button and find your photo on your computer. If your photos have crazy names (the filenames generated by Facebook can be meaningless if you didn't save the photos with a different filename) use the thumbnails icon to actually view the photos on your computer:

6.Before uploading each photo type in a brief description or name for your photo. This can be useful when using your photos in other projects. After clicking the upload button, you may need to wait a few minutes. This is because of the way that broadband works: uploading files is much slower than downloading them.

7.Once you have all the photos you need in your online photo album, you're ready to make your cards!
